On October, 23 a virtual lesson on Osteoporosis , its risk factors and its prevention will be held at the secondary school No. 4 specializing in teaching English . The latest IOF materials on osteoporosis will be used : “Strong Bones Make Strong Women”, ”Falls Prevention Facts Sheet”, posters ”Osteoporosis is a Family Affair” and others.
The lecturer is the Head of the Osteoporosis Center Ph. D Kseniya Belova.
On October ,20 the students and teachers of the Secondary School # 3 in Yaroslavl will learn more about osteoporosis , its risk factors ,its prevention and nutrition at the “lessons on health”.
Video “Yes To Healthy Bones, NO to Osteoporosis” , the cartoon “Protect Your Future “ ( both made with the participation of the orphans in the orphanage “Solneychny”) and “ IOF Quick Osteoporosis Quiz For Kids” will be used during the event .
On October, 15 in the Polyclinic No. 2 in Yaroslavl the Head of Osteoporosis Centre Kseniya Belova will hold an educational event on osteoporosis for the healthcare professionals : physicians, geriatricians, endocrinologists and rheumatologists. They will also have a workshop on the use of the FRAX 10-year absolute fracture risk calculator.
THE SOCIAL SERVICE CENTRE of Kirovsky district hosted an event for the public . The doctor - rheumatologist of the Centre of Osteoporosis Khatia Gordgeladze told the attendees about osteoporosis prevention, nutrition and physical activity. Those present learned about the FRAX fracture risk assessment tool, which allows them to independently assess their fracture risk.
They received brochures with useful tips on healthy eating and physical activity.
The Georgian Association of Skeletal Metabolism Diseases will hold the Online Patient School “Life without Fractures” on October 20, 2020, World Osteoporosis Day.

The SBEM-SP - Sociedade Brasileira de Endocrinologia e Metabologia do Estado de São Paulo (Brazilian Society of Endocrinology and Metabology from the State of São Paulo), developed a campaign that will be marked by an exhibition at a local train station, where a series of 10 panels will inform people about osteoporosis and its risks.
