On the occasion of World Osteoporosis Day, Wednesday, October 20, 2021, liberal health professionals and the Le Mans Hospital Center will host a public information day on osteoporosis, from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Concert Hall (rue du Port, Le Mans).
Free entry. A health pass is required and wearing a mask is compulsory.
The goal of the day is to educate the public about the risk factors for bone fragility, to let people know that it is possible to detect the disease and that effective treatments exist to increase bone strength and prevent fractures. During this meeting, will follow one another rheumatologists to take stock of osteoporosis, dieticians to raise awareness of dietary intake of calcium and protein, physiotherapists and professionals in adapted physical activity, geriatricians to indicate how to avoid falls. All these health professionals work together for the good bone health of patients, in close collaboration with general practitioners. A coordinated care pathway is thus organized for fractured osteoporosis patients, extending out the Le Mans hospital center, where a fracture liaison service has been recognized since 2010.
Our common goal is that the first fracture be the last.
