WORLD OSTEOPOROSIS DAY 2026: Building, Protecting, and Strengthening Bones for Life

On World Osteoporosis Day, 20 October 2026, the Kosovo Osteoporosis Association will organise a series of educational, professional, and public awareness activities to promote bone health, prevent osteoporosis, and encourage early diagnosis and appropriate management. Over two days, the activities will bring together healthcare professionals, older adults, and the wider community.

📅 19 OCTOBER 2026 PROFESSIONAL MULTIDISCIPLINARY MEETING 🕛 12:00–15:00📍 Garden Hotel, Prishtina A

A multidisciplinary professional meeting bringing together specialists from different medical fields to discuss the latest scientific developments, clinical challenges, and advances in osteoporosis prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. The meeting will encourage interdisciplinary collaboration, knowledge exchange, and discussion of strategies to improve osteoporosis care.

📍09:00–10:30 | VISIT TO A NURSING HOME Promoting Bone Health Among Older Adults

Healthcare professionals will visit nursing home residents to provide education and practical advice on osteoporosis, fracture prevention, fall prevention, and maintaining bone health and mobility in older age.

📍 11:00–13:00 | PUBLIC AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

Zahir Pajaziti Square, Prishtina

Raising Awareness, Preventing Fractures, Protecting Lives Medical professionals will engage directly with citizens, providing educational information and practical guidance on osteoporosis risk factors, early detection, prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices. The campaign aims to empower individuals to take proactive steps toward maintaining strong bones throughout life.
